"Pay at Court" payment option Filers in electronically filed cases will no longer be able to pay
filing fees by submission of payment in person at the office of the County Clerk.
Effective 8/1/2011: New York County Supreme Court
Effective 9/1/2011: Kings County Supreme Court
The "pay at court" option in NYSCEF will be deactivated in those counties
listed above, on the date indicated. Thereafter County Clerk's Offices in those counties will only accept
payment online via NYSCEF by means of a credit card or bank card bearing a Visa or Mastercard logo.
It is expected that in the near future the County Clerk of each county will also be in a position to accept
payment of fees online via NYSCEF by American Express credit card. An additional e-check option for payment
is also being considered.
TECHNICAL FAILURE NOTICE On April 23, 2015, from approximately 2PM to 8PM, a network outage occurred which affected several state-wide court computer systems, including NYSCEF. Since this network outage lasted for a period of greater than one hour after 12:00 noon, the technical failure rule [Uniform Rule § 202.5-b(i)and 207.4-a(i)] went into effect. These rules provide:
“When e-filing is hindered by a technical failure, a party may file with the appropriate clerk and serve in hard copy. With the exception of deadlines that by law cannot be extended, the time for filing of any document that is delayed due to technical failure of the site shall be extended for one day for each day on which such failure occurs, unless otherwise ordered by the court.”
