Searching for a Case

1. How do I find a case in WebHousing?
Start by clicking on either Party Name Search or Index Number Search on the left side of the screen. To search by the name of one the parties in a case (either the Petitioner or the Respondent) enter the name, then select a County from the drop-down list (if you do not select a county you may find several cases returned with the same name, but from different counties). Now, enter the Year the case was begun (e.g. 2006) and hit Search to view your case(s). If you are searching by Index Number, select a County from the drop-down list (if you do not select a county you may find several cases returned with the same index number but from different counties). Then, enter the Index Number (you do not need to include any leading zeroes) and then enter the Year (e.g. 2006) and hit Search to view your case(s).

2. What if I do not know the Index Number for the case?
You can search by the name of one of the parties in the case using the Party Name Search.

3. I'm not sure of the spelling of the party's name - can I stll find the case?
If you are unsure of the spelling of a party’s name just enter the first few letters (you will probably find more cases are returned and you should review them carefully to locate the one you are interested in).
